This is the Sagehill Development Corporation (as viewed from the back). The building used to house the local elementary school before it got amalgamated with the high school in another building. It's where I take self-employment workshops, all free thanks to Employment Insurance. The seminars run through lunch and they feed you!

The above photo is to give our friends in Vancouver and Toronto a better idea of what $6500 (and repeated trips to thrift stores, auctions and garage sales) can get you in rural Saskatchewan. We're still working on the other rooms and the store. We have a five-year mortgage so we pay around $140 to the bank a month plus $60 taxes, that's $200 a month...
We have almost completely moved out of Dana. This is the church Tyler's cousin and her husband bought eight years ago for under $2000 ($1800 I think, maybe less). It's where we've been storing all of our stuff. I must admit there are still a few boxes inside, but most of them have been moved into our place in Bruno (we finally have access to our books again!).

Tyler and I went to another auction yesterday. We didn't enjoy it as much as last time. First of all, we left late and neglected to eat a proper breakfast - a misstep that would haunt us later. We then got a flat tire on the way there. By the time we finally arrived we were pretty punchy. We became grumpier when we realized that we were in the middle of nowhere and all there was to eat were burgers and junk food (neither of us eat meat). We filled up on chips, chocolate and pie and drank coffee to keep warm as we waited for the items we were interested in to come up for bid. It took forever. It was very cold. We were standing in mud. Thankfully we didn't leave empty handed. We purchased a coffee table and bookshelf for $2; however, we spent $12 on junk food. Next time we're packing sandwiches!

We made the switch from summer to winter tires yesterday. Tyler had never changed a tire before but, armed with knowledge learned while working at Doepker's, his efforts were a success. Well, almost. After finishing he noticed he had a winter tire left over and realized he had changed one summer tire for another summer tire...

Tyler was very sleepy yesterday. He just quit his job and will start a new job on Sunday. The shift work at his old job wasn't working for him so I went online and found him a new one with much better hours! He's actually going to miss his old job, the people there were good to him. He was so tired yesterday he forgot to change out of his slippers when we went for breakfast at The Bruno Café. He didn't realize until we were walking home.

We barely managed to paint the exterior of the storefront before winter struck (pictures forthcoming) however Tyler insisted on painting the back as well. This time the weather beat us. It rained shortly after the left half was painted. Then it snowed. Thus, it looks like a child painted it. Charming isn't it? The sunshine in the photo is deceiving, it's -2.
