We found this note on our door when we got home late last night. I found the handwriting a little difficult to decipher, it reads: "Don't use ANY water Lines are Treated with Sodium Hypochlorite(?)".

Serena, I am enjoying your blog thoroughly (I just found you through Amy Jo's Saskatchewan food blog). Am terribly curious about why you moved to the Saskatchewan prairies from Vancouver. (Not that I don't love it here.)

I am so glad that you're enjoying my blog. It's been quite an adventure so far. Why did we move here? It's my boyfriend Tyler's fault. He has a cousin who's husband found a house in Dana. He also found an small empty Ukrainian church, so he bought both (for very little money) and the two of them got married in the church about 8 years ago. They only visit Dana on occasion, so the house is empty most of the time (they live in Gibsons, BC). Tyler attended the wedding and fell in love with the landscape and has had thoughts of moving out here ever since. His cousin and her husband told him he could stay in Dana for free whenever he wanted. When I got laid off work in Vancouver we were both feeling overwhelmed by how expensive it is to live there (combined with how difficult is was for us to find decent work). We needed a change, so here we are!
